Create a Volume Surface

Objective:

Learn how to create and view a volume surface entity

NOTES:

  • A volume surface is developed by comparing a base and reference surface. The volume surface will express cut and fill values and an overall total volume of earthworks that must be or have been performed.
  • The Base surface will represent Original Ground.
  • The Comparison Surface will represent the modified ground as a surface which represents fill above zero elevation and cut as below zero elevation.
  • You will be prompted to select a Base surface and a Comparison surface:
    • The Base surface will represent ground before earthworks has occurred.
    • The Comparison surface will represent ground after earthworks has occurred.
