Prerequites for Experienced users:
Experienced users are invited to enroll and will enjoy this course as it provides an overview of a best practises workflow in a complex, high precision least square adjustment. No prerequisites are set, but you must be an experienced user to get the best educational value from this course.
Prerequisites for Beginners:
This course is the "Grand Finale" of the STAR*NET Certified curriculum. It allows new users who have completed all the prerequisites to demonstrate their mastery of the many workflows and techniques that are available in STAR*NET.
STARNET 2: Introduction to Least Squares adjustment and the STAR*NET Interface
STAR*NET allows you to combine data from all sensor types and most manufacturers into a single, balanced and unified network. This Master class will introduce you to an overall strategy of inspecting and correcting all measurement types in four distinct stages:
Isolated, Minimally Constrained (free) --> Isolated, Over Constrained (fixed) --> Combined free --> Combined fixed
Attention is paid to using every part of the listing and processing workflow to both identify problems and report detailed results to satisfy the requirements of virtually any type of least squares project.
Your Instructor
Managing director of McCall Consulting. Mr. McCall has a Bachelor of Surveying from Queensland University and has worked in Construction, Mining, Hydro, GIS and Legal surveying over a 40 year career. Specialities are GNSS / INS integration, Network Processing and Adjustments of data from various sources. Tim has provided positioning services, contributed to academic research projects and offered training in the GNSS field for most of his career and enjoys the training process. Tim is a certified MicroSurvey STAR*NET trainer and can be contracted via MicroSurvey to provide customized training to clients.
